Bjørn Vidar Solli spiller med Jazzcode

Bjorn Solli is a Norwegian guitarist/composer who has been based in New York
the last four years. In NYC he plays regularly with some of the top musicians in
the city. He was voted «Young Jazz Musician of the Year» in 2002 and has since
won numerous awards throughout Europe, including soloist prizes in Belgium,
Monaco and Spain and at the Montreux Jazz Festival, and a composition prize in
France.

As a leader he has with his trio SOLID! released 4 critically acclaimed CD’s and
he recently toured and recorded in Europe with saxophonist Seamus Blake.

Solli is a busy professional musician who records, teaches and tours extensively
in countries such as  China, India, Ireland, Nepal, Vietnam, Russia, Italy,
Germany, Portugal, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Australia, South Africa.

When in NYC he has been performing in such venues as Dizzy’s Club at Lincoln
Centre, Smalls, The Bitter End, 55 Bar and Fat Cat with such musicians as
Jon Gordon, Kevin Hays, Clarence Penn, Marcus Strickland, Will Vinson, John
Ellis, Gary Versace, Kendrick Scott, Matt Penman, Orlando Le Flemming, Lage
Lund, Rodney Green, Matt Brewer, Bryn Roberts, Jonathan Blake, Mark Ferber,
Jochen Rueckert, Jon Wikan, Ferenc Nemeth, Jamire Williams, Ingrid Jensen,
Adam Cruz, Jaleel Shaw etc.

In 2005 Solli performed at the Nelson Mandela concert in Tromso, Norway
in front of 18.000 spectators. He has opened for artists such as Alicia Keys,
Manhattan Transfer, Jean Luc Ponty, Peter Gabriel, Robert Plant, Annie Lenox
etc. He has also played for a million viewers on national television.
